Exeter Middlemoor Aquathlon - Full Race Results

The results are in for this year's Exeter Middlemoor Aquathlon. The fourth and final Aquathlon of the series, organised by Exeter Triathlon Club, consisted of a 600m pool swim followed by a 5km run.
Congratulations to Adam Caunter who won the Aquathlon race in a time of 26:49. Adam, still a junior, won by just five seconds. But it was his excellent run time of 17:32 that saw him though where he fought off stiff competition from the more experienced Tobis Hole (2nd - 26:54) and Steve Swani( 3rd - 27:17). Steve was also the first home in the MV40 category for the third race in a row.

Helen Smith (28:38) ran away with the first female prize again, this time with an even bigger winning margin of 1 minute 45 seconds Katherine Broomhill (30:23) finished 2nd. Nelida Montes de Oca (31:17) of Exeter Tri Club finished 3rd.

Meanwhile Lynn Swani FV40, Pete Hayward MV50-59, Alison Round FV50-59, and Terry Windeatt MV60-69 won their age-group categories. Alex Hammick (now no longer a novice) won the novice race in a time of 25:58.

A special mention goes to the Windeatts (as pictured to the left). They had three generations of their family taking part in the race. All impressively picking up medals along the way. Terry (the grandfather) was first MV60 home in the sprint race, Katheleen (the daughter) came 2nd in the novice raace and James (the grandson) received a medal in the TriStart race.

On to the children races, where we had a very good turnout. It was nice to see lots of family turning out to give their kids some encouragement.

Matthew Rye won the TriStart Race for the boys, Isabelle Beech was the first for the girls. In the TriStart1 race Kizzy Price won with a very quick run time (6:23, 8:04 overall) and finished over a minute ahead of the rest of the field. Kirsty Jenkins was 2nd and Alex Curtis was 3rd.

Jordan Channon won a competitive TriStart2 race in a time of (12:23), just 12 seconds ahead of Hugh Ireland who finished 2nd. Emily Attfield (13:34) was the first girl home in this race, 23 seconds ahead of Emily Yap.

In Tristart3 David Middleton won in an impressive time of 17:16. Well done also to Beth Gutans (27:28) who was the first girl home in this race.

That completes the Aquathlon Series for another year, please come back and check this site again soon, especially for details on how to enter again for next year's series. Well done and thank you to all those who took part this year.
